Sony (Mobile) Taiwan has introduced a new handset called Xperia Z2a. The Z2a is basically identical with Xperia ZL2 that was introduced as Japan-exclusive recently. It has a 5-inch 1080p VA display, 3000mAh non-removable battery, Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset (MSM8974AB), 3GB RAM, 20.7 megapixel Exmor RS camera and IP55/IP58 dust and water resistance certifications. However, the difference between the Z2a and ZL2 is that the ZL2 comes with 32GB on-board memory, meanwhile the Z2a comes in a smaller 16GB memory. The Z2a is the first Sony phone that support Taiwan’s full band 4G LTE (700MHz, 900MHz, 1800MHz) network.
Sony Mobile Taiwan says that the phone will be available this July in three colours (black, white and turquoise – unfortunately no purple colour option), the pricing hasn’t been confirmed. Sony has also announced the Xperia T3 with LTE in Taiwan. The T3 will also be available in July.
