Sony has uploaded a new promo ad showing the Sony Xperia Z2 with its wireless charging capability. However, to charge the phone wirelessly you have to buy an extra WCR12 wireless charging cover and WCH10 Wireless Charging Plate. Meanwhile if you have any Qi enabled charger you can just snap the WCR12 charging cover with your Qi chargers.
We can’t see the point of this, since Sony also has its own Magnetic Charging Dock (this one is for Xperia Z2). You just need the dock to charge it, no extra covers needed (it is wireless too!).
